Broken Levels
Steaver!!!! Can you please help? The levels Zanmato and Absolute Ultimate Challenge are unplayable. Can you do something about it?

Re: Broken Levels
Not for me. Look, Steaver, when I downloaded UC7, and tried playing Absolute Ultimate Challenge, it CRASHED. And as for Zanmato, the same annoying "No Level Selected" in the stats screen. Maybe it's because you did not zip them and re-upload them.

I might re-upload them zipped later. But I did zip and re-upload Fewer Builders Challenge! :D

Re: Broken Levels
Steaver, the problem probably lies in the style files. Try uploading the styles used by these levels, even if they appear to be the same as what comes with the game.

Re: Broken Levels
Conway: Wrong. It's not because of the style files. It's because when files aren't zipped when uploaded, they end up with lots of problems such as:

1. Clicking on the level name ends up with no map display, and on the stats, it says: "No Level Selected"

2. Even if the problems of Number #1 aren't there, instead, starting that level makes the game crash.

Re: Broken Levels
I don't see how simply zipping the files could solve the problem. Not all the levels in those packs crash. And some of his other non-zipped packs work fine.

Re: Broken Levels
Conway: Wrong again. Look, the levels Zanmato and Absolute Ultimate Challenge are broken.

Also correct, because UC6 works fine. Also, not all levels are broken.

Re: Broken Levels
"Look, the levels Zanmato and Absolute Ultimate Challenge are broken. "

Quite right. There is likely something wrong in the file itself. I don't see what zipping has to do with this.

Re: Broken Levels
Can you please try re-uploading the two packs zipped again, Steaver? Also upload LR3 for the others who badly need it.

Re: Broken Levels
Two of the levels aren't working for me: LEMMING INSANITY and The Commander Keen Level. Is it because I don't have the styles for these levels, and if so where can I get them?

Re: Broken Levels
Steaver, maybe the problem is because you manually edited some of the levels (Absolute Ultimate Challenge, for sure), such as getting a time limit above 9min 59 sec, ect. Maybe you could upload the .lev and the .lst files for the packs with broken levels so we can compile the packs on our own machines. I don't know why this would work, but it's worth a try.

Pleeeeeeeeease! O_o Cos I really want to try these levels!

I don't have a website of any type at the moment, so I can't do that. The webmaster of Lemming Crazy seems to have disappeared. If anyone wants them, contact me at:

I've just created this Lemmings message board. The Cheapo and LemEdit sections allow you to attach files to your messages. I uploaded the level file there.

Weird. All of Steaver's levels work fine for me. You have the "Lemmus" and "Generic" styles?

How long ago did you download it?  I believe the problem has since been fixed, if it was months ago you download that set, try redownloading it.

Also, the sound effects for that level are WHACK!

Re: Broken Levels
If you use the lemmus styles here, It should work fine. Maybe you have the same problem I had and have 'out of date' style files.

Shvegait:  oh, so your comment was about the custlemm level JM's complaining about?

Hmm, well I'll take a look again at the level later today and see.  Have you tried opening it up in LemEdit and see if that works?  (just to make sure)

Re: Broken Levels
The level loads up, I managed to get the screenshots for it (when I was taking pictures of people's levels for the CustLemm Level List Game). I guess I shouldn't have said I had the "same" problem, because I had different problems... but still problems.

All of the sound effects are different from what you'd expect (Kind of freaky  O_o ), and when you quit the level, CustLemm crashes. I'm not sure if you can play through the level fully without a crash or not... I didn't try.

Re: Broken Levels
Ok, it seems isteve never actually uploaded a fixed version of the level, or maybe he didn't fix everything.

Either way, the problem with the out-of-bounds steel area remained, despite the fact that isteve talked about figuring out the problem a while back.

Well, now that LemEdit2 more or less works for most people, go make the fix yourself.  Open up the level, find the leftmost steel area at the bottom.  You'll find that it has a vertical height of 64, which means at the position it's at, it extends past the level's bottom boundary by some 56 pixels or so.  Change the vertical height to 8 and save, and you'll be fine, I tested it.

I remember him saying he fixed it, and I downloaded the latest version of his levels from his site, so that's why I was confused. Thanks.

Re: Broken Levels
Some of his level packs would not work when I got them off Garjen's website. When I got all packs off Steve's website they all worked. If anybody downloads a level pack and it does not work I mite be able to fix the problem
